The team led by Ceetrus Nhood wins the tender for the urban renewal of Piazzale Loreto in Milan with the LOC – LORETO OPEN COMMUNITY project, initiated by Reinventing Cities. This international tender was promoted by the Milan City Council together with C40 with the aim of urban transformation through projects that are in tune with the local community, resilience, and regeneration.
The project was achieved on the strength of the combined contributions of Studio Andrea Caputo, Metrogramma Milano, Mobility In Chain, LAND, Temporiuso and Squadrati Srl. It aspires to become a model for living in Milan that promotes public and collective spaces. LOC will transform Piazzale Loreto from a large traffic junction into a green open-air square, connected to NoLo to ensure continuity of the Corso Buenos Aires, Viale Monza, and Viale Padova axis.
Andrea Caputo architecture office is co-authors of the master plan for the redefinition of Piazzale Loreto and also designed the new tower building on Via Porpora that will be integrated into the layout of the square and represent an iconic new landmark for the city.
